When Andrew Sumner meets beautiful, edgy Charlie, he is certain his run of bad luck has finally come to an end.

But as the two of them embark on an intense affair, Andrew wonders if his grasp on reality is slipping. Items go missing in his apartment. Somebody appears to be following him. And as misfortune and tragedy strike his friends and loved ones, Andrew is forced to confront the frightening truth…

Is Charlie really the girl of his dreams – or the woman of his nightmares?

Deeply buried under my Netgalley pile, gasping for air and reaching for something that I ‘don’t have to’ read, I didn’t even have to think which way to go. I simply just needed a bit of Mark Edwards world, the world that ‘works’ every time and has pulled me out of so many reading slumps.

Andrew has a spell of bad luck in his life. Tragedies seem to follow him until one of them lets a light into his life. After recovering from his operation, he bumps into Her, the One. Andrew never believed he would ever find someone to share his life with but now their relationship evolves in high speed. Can Charlie be any more made for him? They are perfect together! What begins as a ‘it was meant to be’ story soon begins to turn into obsession and jealousy. Be ready to shake your head and mentally slap Andrew to open his eyes, to not be so so stupid. He made me so mad sometimes, just thinking why he can’t see it. But then not many people in his situation do, not until it’s too late. But as usual, there is more, a lot more yet to come. You think you worked it out? Yeah, sure you did… 🙄🙄🙄

This book is, as every book I read by Mark Edwards so far, absolutely brilliant. I don’t know how he does it but he’s a genius in creating these so strong and extreme characters that won’t let you put the book down.

I can’t recommend this book any more, so head over to Amazon and treat yourself.
