This is not a great love story.
This is a story about great love.

On a morning that seems just like any other, Robbie wakes in his bed, his wife Emily asleep beside him, as always. He rises and dresses, makes his coffee, feeds his dogs, just as he usually does. But then he leaves Emily a letter and does something that will break her heart. As the years go back all the way to 1962, Robbie’s actions become clearer as we discover the story of a couple with a terrible secret – one they will do absolutely anything to protect.

This book is just crazy good! One of the best reads of the year for me. I’m aware this book came with a lot of mixed reviews but I haven’t read them beforehand so there was nothing to influence my opinion.

I can’t be happier that I was recommended this book because it filled my heart with all sort of emotions. Journey through this book was hard and shocking at times, it covered some very difficult and heavy subjects. But main part about this book is, it’s so full of love, true love that you will do anything for even things you would never even imagine to think of.

Emily and Robbie are happy couple but they have a lot of secrets, they don’t speak about. There is a lot of their past to uncover and as the book progresses, we slowly unravel parts of their history that reveal more about their relationship and what led to them be together.

Story is written in parts going from present to past. This might not work for everyone but there is a reason why it’s written this way and I think it was executed perfectly! Things start adding up, further you go to their past and when you think there is no more secrets, something happens again.

I’m ashamed to say, I’ve never really heard about this author prior reading this book. If this book is anything to go by, I definitely need to experience some of her other creations as Together has changed me and will stay with me forever.
